St. Joseph receives support from more than 200 community volunteers whose generous contributions average 23,000 hours annually to support patient care, ancillary services and fundraising projects.
In the past 12-months, they were successful in raising more than $100,000 to provide the
following support:
- Purchase of a new Courtesy Coach
- Educational Scholarships
- Laboratory Technology Improvements
- Electronic Medical Records Technology
- Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Training
- Huron Shores Walk-In Clinic
In 2009, the Volunteers received the prestigious Hospital Award for Volunteer Excellence at the American Hospital Association’s annual membership meeting in Washington DC. The award recognizes outstanding contributions of organized volunteer programs and St. Joseph Volunteers were selected as one of only four hospitals nationwide to receive this award for their fundraising efforts.
